Missing my four-legged friends ...ones that have been lost in the past year

So today I am going to dedicate my post to those that have passed in the the last year...(or so).

It started out in 2009, when we lost our little Imp kitty, for no apparent reason. He was a "ghost" kitty in our house, as he actively disliked the dogs, especially Gaia. He would wait till we went to bed at night, or we had put the dog up in their crates, and then, and only then would he dare to come out of the "cat" safe area which we had blocked off for the cats, with dog gates. There would be days that I would not see him, sometimes he would come out when I would feed Pauli, my cat, and sometimes he would hide even then. He was not a people friendly cat. Late in 2009, he disappeared for a few days, and my ex-husband found him keeled over dead in one of the rooms we seldom used...

Don't I look precious

So then in late 2009, November to be exact, I broke my ankle...and my beloved Gaia did not respond well to being without me, and she got sick, and had to be put to sleep in February...it broke my heart, but I wanted to keep peace in the family...so I made the choice that was one of the most difficult things I have had to do...I still remember her almost everyday, and miss her so much. She taught me that it was ok to completely love a dog, and still have to say good-bye. She was the reason that I chose my adorable Jocelyn...and got her. Gaia I still do miss you, and wish that we had more time together.

Gaia letting me be silly...she would ,let me do anything to her

My giant teddy bear...we would cuddle every night for 5-10 minutes

My little girl all snuggled down for the day with her white fuzzy man

Yumm..anything else to snack on

Even after Gaia left, I still had Math and Pauli, although Math was spending so much time with the ex-husbands dog because that dog was psychotic and would cry if he was left to himself....but Pauli wasn't doing great, he had been switched from a raw diet back to kibble while I was recovering from my broken ankle in MI. When we moved back to NC, he got worse, and I knew that it was time to let him go, so I made the decision to bring him up to MI when I visited, and have one of my favorite vets help me. We made the journey up to MI and Pauli left me 15 1/2 years after he came into my life...peacefully.

During the summer while I was in NC, my dear friends Marci and Bill lost their beloved boy Tiny, whom I had also known since he came into their lives. Tiny was special, he loved his two kitties, and Marcia and Bill, and their children. Tiny was sweet and lovable, and thought everyone was his friend and that everyone wanted to see him.

Don't I just look like a stuffed puppy??

It's so hard being a puppy...very tiring

These are the dear four legged friends that have left my life in the past year (or so), and I will miss each and everyone of them with all my heart.
